Meet the Singers

ERIN RILEY, Soprano

Soprano Erin Riley had her professional debut at the age of twelve as a soloist on public radio.  Since then she has performed in four countries and on many stages, including the Kennedy Center and the Baltimore Lyric Opera House. She received her training from both Shenandoah University and the Peabody Conservatory, where she took first place in the Baltimore Music Club Competition and honorable mention in the Russell Wonderlic Competition. She has spent three seasons in the Baltimore Opera Chorus and has sung with New Jersey Opera’s touring production of Carmen.  Ms. Riley can be heard Sundays in the choir of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church as well as with the newly formed Lyric Opera of Baltimore.

BETH MILLER RYAN, Alto

Beth Miller Ryan grew up singing in Baltimore and did her undergraduate work in music at The College of William and Mary where she met Wayne Curtis. During graduate school days at NYU, Beth had the opportunity to pursue her musical studies in Italy on a Fulbright scholarship. Since returning to Baltimore, she has been privileged to sing as a chorister with the Baltimore Opera Chorus, and as chorister and soloist with both the Concert Artists of Baltimore and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society. For more than a decade she has been alto soloist at University Baptist Church.

.

WAYNE CURTIS, Tenor

Wayne Curtis has been singing semi-professionally for 30 years. He received vocal training at the College of William and Mary and the University of Delaware, and has been a member of a wide variety of singing groups, including the William and Mary Choir, the University of Delaware Chorale, Chorus Pro Musica, the John Oliver Chorale, the Tanglewood Festival Chorus (including television specials on PBS and A&E, and several commercial recordings) and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society. Small ensemble singing has always been a passion, and CADENZA is a labor of pure love.

Since moving to Maryland in 1993, Jason has been in the Baltimore Opera chorus and the Concert Artists of Baltimore.
